Don’t you think that school is boring? Even when you have free time? When the coronavirus rolled in kids didn’t spend as much time doing work. Which is a great thing because all that work was hard. The school day is too long. What’s great about learning at home is I have control over my environment, better choices at free time, my work gets done faster.
Some kids think it’s better to be at school, like my sister Corrina. She argues that:
“You don’t have your siblings in your class, it’s quieter at school. You get to see your teachers and friends, and they have a playground.”
At home your siblings get in trouble for interrupting your class. I think home is quieter. It’s possible for people to have a social life without going to school. If you were homeschooled you would have your own set of friends from the beginning. So, let’s look at the benefits of learning at home.
You can choose your environment at home. For example, you can work at the kitchen table with pets around you. Or you can work in your room with an audiobook. You can work outside with a parent. You can work at a desk with some food. You don’t have to work in a classroom with people you don’t want to be with.
Free choice at school is board games, drawing, playing, or talking to friends. These are good choices if you like the people around you but bad if you really don’t. Free choices at home are playing with toys, playing with a pet, playing video games, relaxing in the bath with an audiobook or music. You don’t have to worry about people you don’t like at home. As you don’t have to deal with the people you don’t like at home and it’s a lot more fun.
Learning at home is faster, I feel less stressed and so I work faster. I don’t have to wait for other people to be done. I get to learn more about the things I want to learn about, there is more freedom.
In conclusion school is more fun, faster, and more efficient for me at home. It’s possible for you to have a social life without school. Therefore I think homeschooling should continue even after the coronavirus. Also if homeschooling kept on going they could sell the schools and give teachers more money.
