VTDigger is bringing together leaders who are working to understand the public health implications of vaping. Keynote speaker is Dr. Andrea Villanti, a nationally recognized expert on young adult tobacco use and predictors and patterns of use.
The event will also feature a panel discussion with a doctor, consumer advocate, college student, expert on tobacco use in diverse populations and a legislative update from state lawmakers.
Panelists include Dr. Lauren E. Faricy, pediatric lung specialist, UVM; Sheila Thorne, president and CEO, Multicultural Healthcare Marketing Group and consultant to RJ Reynolds; Alex Clark, CEO, Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association; and Isabelle Gulick, sophomore at UVM, from Mendon, Vermont.
Sen. Ginny Lyons (Chittenden) and Rep. Jessica Brumsted (Shelburne) will talk about vaping legislation in the Statehouse this session.
The event will be co-moderated by VTDigger’s digital editor, Michael Doughtery and political reporter, Xander Landen.
This event is free and open to the public.
“Should Vermont Ban Vaping” is the third in VTDigger’s Fast Forward series of free, public events centered on proposed legislation and critical issues for Vermonters.
