[O]n Aug. 14, Vermonters will have a chance to select the candidates they want to represent their party of choice.
Their choices will not only shape the race for who represents their district or county, it could eventually decide the balance of power for state politics over the next two years.
Across the state, 270 candidates have registered to run under the Democratic, Republican or Progressive party banners for House, Senate or gubernatorial races. (Dozens more independents and smaller party candidates will be on the general election ballot.)
VTDigger sent out a survey to candidates earlier this month asking for information about the candidates and their policy positions: about 160 responded.
We wanted all primary candidates to have the opportunity to let constituents know where they stand on some of the most important issues facing Vermont. And we want to give VTDigger readers a one-stop shop to get informed before they head to the polls.
Our 2018 Elections guide will continue to be updated ahead of the general elections on Nov. 6.
