[B]URLINGTON — County Democrats nominated three people Thursday to complete the term of Chittenden County State’s Attorney TJ Donovan’s.
According to the committee’s outgoing chair Cameron Russell, two of Donovan’s deputies, Bram Kranichfeld and Sarah George were selected as possible replacements, as well as Colchester attorney Ted Kenney.
Russell said Kranichfeld was the top vote getter followed by Kenney and then George.

Donovan was elected Attorney General in November. He has said he does not plan to step down as state’s attorney until he is sworn in to the new position in January.
That means Governor-elect Phil Scott will appoint a replacement to complete Donovan last two years in office. Donovan has not endorsed a successor. Scott has indicated he will adhere to convention and select a nominee from those provided by the committee.
Also at Thursday’s meeting, Russell stepped down and the Chittenden County Democrats elected Faisal Gill as their new chairman. Gill ran an unsuccessful campaign for a Chittenden County Senate seat in the August primary.
