Two Rutland men have been charged with felony counts of distributing crack cocaine.
Young “Johnny” Lim, 34 and Andi Majka, 27, both of Rutland, pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court in Rutland Friday, according to an announcement from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. At the arraignment, the judge ordered they be detained without bail.
The charges stem from incidents in May and August 2014. The Vermont State Police Drug Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Rutland Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Agency investigated Lim and Majka.
The announcement of the arraignment came days after a Floridian man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for possession of crack cocaine.
Customs and Border Protection searched the car Tyrone Dixon, 35, after he made a U-turn near the border in Derby Line in January. Law enforcement found 50 grams of crack cocaine concealed inside a hollowed-out loaf of bread.
Dixon pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance in U.S. District Court in Rutland in June.
